Common questions about our 10+ Guilderton Adventure Group Program

To participate in our programs, you must:

  • Be a participant of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • Have a current NDIS plan, with funding available in either the Core or Increased Social and Community Participation categories.
  • Be plan managed, or self managed in the above categories.

Our group programs run for 3 nights. Participants are picked up on Friday morning, typically between 10:00–11:00 AM, and dropped off on Monday morning around the same time, unless otherwise specified.

We offer pick-up from 2–3 locations around Perth, both north and south of the river. These locations will be finalised after registrations close and will be chosen based on the proximity to all participants to ensure convenient access for everyone. They will be based around Perth’s train stations so they can be easily accessed via public transport or highway and send out after registrations close.

Participants and mentors will share rental accommodation, selected based on individual support needs and proximity to planned activities. If you require wheelchair access, a shower chair, or any other mobility equipment, just let us know—we’ll ensure everything is organised to suit your needs.

  • Adult programs: Each participant will have their own bedroom.
  • Teen programs: Participants may share a room with one or two peers.
  • All programs: Bathrooms and kitchen facilities will be shared.

We typically rent 2–3 houses close to each other, with one designated as the main house, where we cook meals, dine together, and host group activities like board games, arts and crafts, karaoke nights, silent discos, and more.

Each group includes 4–8 participants, along with a team of mentors matched to each participant’s support ratio. This ensures a small, supportive, and inclusive environment, helping participants build genuine connections without feeling overwhelmed. Our trained mentors create a positive and inclusive atmosphere, where every participant is heard, respected, and encouraged to engage.

Support is offered at a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio, depending on your needs. After we learn more about your preferences and support requirements, we’ll pair you with a suitable mentor from our team of experienced staff. They’ll support you (and possibly one other participant) throughout the entire program.

In addition to your dedicated mentor, you’ll naturally receive support from the entire team, thanks to the collaborative and close-knit nature of our group.

Each program follows a specific theme, allowing participants to connect with like-minded individuals who share similar interests. Themes may include Arts & Crafts, Outdoor Adventure, Science, and more. Visit our website to explore upcoming themes and the exciting activities planned for each program.

Goal: Strengthening daily living skills
Tour programs are structured group initiatives designed to empower individuals with disabilities by enhancing their daily living skills outside of their usual home environment. These programs are facilitated through mentored overnight stays, during which participants receive support with morning and evening routines, meal preparation, and organisational skills for the day ahead.

Goal: Increasing independence in the community
We offer a diverse range of activities thoughtfully curated to foster community integration and promote independence. Participants engage in accomplishing new tasks and stepping beyond their comfort zones within a safe and supportive setting. Selected activities may include, but are not limited to, surf lessons, art classes, nature excursions, visits to public spaces (such as AQWA, theatres and museums), cooking classes, and more.

Goal: Enhancing social skills and making meaningful connections
Mighty Mentors 3-Night Skill Building and Independence Programs emphasize the development of social bonds both within the group and between participants. Each program is centred around a specific theme (such as Arts & Crafts, Science, or Outdoor Adventure), providing opportunities for participants to form meaningful connections with others who share similar interests.

Goal: Building social awareness and strengthen emotional self-regulation
The programs encourage interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with different disabilities and cultural perspectives. We are committed to advocating diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, cultivating a positive social environment through inclusive communication, team-building activities, and providing support with self-regulation techniques as needed. Our programs offer participants the opportunity to not only forge friendships but also building their capacity and confidence while navigating complex social environments, all with the guidance and expertise of our qualified mentors.
